Any advice?

*Previous Post DELETED*

Isn't "venting" an amazing thing...sometimes.  It can be very refreshing, but my favorite thing about it is that it helps me recognize my moments of irrationality. :)  Thank you all for your advice!  I'm going to try some of your suggestions.    I'm so thankful for my little one and I don't care if he fits into whatever mold others may try to force him into.  We will work things out.  Maybe all I need is a little more focus ;)

I really really doubt that you failed your son. You're a good mom. You love him. I have no advice...Maybe a reward program or something. (?) All kids are different. Jordyn, who is normally very out going and social, has been backing off in preschool. She plays by herself, she doesn't like group activities. Now explain that one.

P.S. I'll be praying for you.

Can you talk with the principal...there have to be other kids she/he has seen that had the same problem. Maybe they could refer you to someone that could give you some real answers. Or even your pediatrician?

You have definitely not failed him. In my opinion it sounds like he would thrive with varied teaching methods. Not everyone likes to color - he's not too young. He just doesn't like it. I don't know if you can ask for her to freshen up her approach maybe? Or introduce some other activities? Or maybe you could come in and read to the kids while they work, much like you do for him at home?
